TL;DR: xNAUT is free, open-source software under the MIT License. It comes as-is, with no warranty. Use it at your own risk, don't misuse the name, and Swiss law applies.

1. The software

xNAUT is open-source software released under the MIT License. The license governs your use of the software: you may use, copy, modify and redistribute it, commercially or not, subject to the license terms. There is no purchase, no subscription and no account.

2. No warranty

As the MIT License states: the software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. You are responsible for what you run in your terminal — xNAUT executes the commands and agents you tell it to.

3. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 48Nauts and the contributors shall not be liable for any claim, damages or other liability arising from the use of the software or this website — including loss of data, lost profits, or damage caused by commands, AI agents or third-party tools you run through xNAUT.

4. Third-party services

xNAUT can connect to services you configure — local model runtimes and cloud AI providers, SSH hosts, git remotes. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. Downloads and release checks are served by GitHub under GitHub's terms.

5. AI features

AI output is generated by the model you choose and may be wrong. Review commands, code and explanations before acting on them. The tamper-evident work session log proves a session was not edited after recording; it does not certify the quality or correctness of the work itself.

6. The website

Content on xnaut.dev is provided for information. Product names and marks of third parties (Warp, Cursor, Orca, Ghostty and others) belong to their respective owners; comparisons reflect publicly available information at the stated date. The xNAUT name and logo belong to 48Nauts — don't use them to imply endorsement.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Place of jurisdiction is Switzerland, mandatory statutory jurisdictions reserved.

8. Changes

We may update these terms; the current version lives on this page with its date. The site's public git history is the change log.
